I’m Sammie Buzzard, a PhD student at the University of Reading studying the role of surface melt in the break up of Antarctic ice sheets. This is based on computer modelling, so I don’t have to brave the cold or leave my cup of tea to do this, although I have been lucky enough to visit the arctic and an Icelandic glacier during my PhD.
Here I’m going to post things about my research, semi-related climate science that people are often confused/ have misconceptions about and also some cake. Because if I’ve learnt anything so far in my PhD it’s that cake is essential for PhD research.
